The planned site will be home to housing projects, university spaces, sports clubs, hotels, food markets and a new space for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. In the U.S., it sees the racket sport trending toward affluent consumers in hospitality and private club settings Pickleball may have gotten Americans hooked on racket sports with a beginner-friendly, all-ages approach. Now, padel is counting on the same crowd to pay up for a more refined version. If you ask Playtomic co-founder Pablo Carro, padel is no longer in emerging mode. The racket sport has become a global lifestyle and business phenomenon, with nearly 5,000 new padel clubs and almost 8,000 new courts added worldwide in 2025, bringing the global padel player base to 19.4 million. And in the U.S., the stage has been set for the sport to move beyond traditional clubs into premium wellness, hospitality and lifestyle experiences, with long-term growth potential. That’s the takeaway from the 2026 Playtomic Global Padel Report, released by the racquet sports platform behind the app of the same name and PwC’s Strategy&. Playtomic is feeling the upside, too. It raised more than €5.1 million (around $6 million) late last year. “What makes the U.S. particularly exciting is that we are still in the early innings,” Carro said, adding that the report reveals that the padel market is developing differently than in Europe. Stateside, 250 new padel clubs and 330 new courts were added last year, with growth concentrated in Florida, Texas, California and select East Coast cities, where the report links demand to affluent consumers and a craving for social fitness. Padel is also becoming a key amenity in real estate and mixed-use developments, and finding a home in luxury hospitality and private club settings, Playtomic reports. Pickleball operators need not fear, either. Rather than competing with padel, the report sees pickleball as a gateway to the elevated racket sport, which has been described as a cross between tennis and squash. The premium-club model is already taking shape in the U.S. Utah City, a 700-acre mixed-use development in Vineyard, Utah (and home to the first Peloton-powered community), debuts its racket club on June 13. Flagborough, the developer of Utah City, is teaming up with LVBL on the facility, among the first to bring padel to Utah County. VVV Sports, a British Virgin Islands company whose shares trade on London’s Aquis Stock Exchange Growth Market, is also moving in. The company announced a proposed placing to raise roughly £5 million (around $7 million), with proceeds to fund plans that include a U.S. operating entity based in Miami and a U.S. Padel Center of Excellence in New York. VVV said it intends to seek a dual listing on the NASDAQ Global Market. The capital has been flowing for a while. Miami-based Racquet 360, focused primarily on padel, closed a $9 million round late last year to scale brands including the National Padel League and racket sports festival RacquetX. AO Ventures, the investment arm of the Australian Open and Tennis Australia, recently took a stake in U.S. club operator Padel Haus, which runs six clubs nationwide. And Virginia-based Epic Padel raised an oversubscribed $10 million seed round last fall to open its first U.S. clubs, backed by former pro athletes. The luxury angle is showing up in travel, too. Privé Padel, a Hamptons-founded lifestyle brand, launched Privé Passport this month, a members-only program linking padel players to a network of luxury hotels and resorts with on-property courts. The platform launches with more than 40 hotel and resort partners across 15-plus countries and a base of over 600 active members in New York, Miami and the Hamptons, with members getting perks like preferred rates, room upgrades and spa credits at participating properties. Playtomic’s assessment aligns with Garmin’s 2025 Connect Data Report, which found that racket sports led all activities in year-over-year participation growth, climbing 67% and edging out even Pilates. Women and players aged 18 to 29 drove the biggest gains. _____ SEE FULL ARTICLE HERE ### [Fini Pizza, a New York-style pizza joint, makes its mark in Utah](https://utahcity.com/2026/05/20/fini-pizza-a-new-york-style-pizza-joint-makes-its-mark-in-utah/) Published: 2026-05-20 Deseret News: The beloved Fini Pizza made quite the impact during its debut in Utah City. Just days after opening, the pizza joint sold out of everything by 5 p.m. on a Monday afternoon. The demand for the delicious New York-style pizza was higher than expected. Owner Sean Feeney and the rest of his team worked late into the night to prep for the week, building pizza boxes, slicing pepperonis and doing all they could to prevent that from happening again. Feeney said he has three goals with Fini Pizza: “Make something that is excellent and delicious and cravable.” “Do it in a way where you’re making others feel like they matter and you want their days to be better.” “How do we then go outside of these doors and really show people how proud we are to be a part of this neighborhood?” For the first time, Fini Pizza also opened up Fini Cafe, a charming little cafe that serves up bagels, sandwiches, coffee and pastries. “You can start your days with us,” Feeney said. “And we can start our day together on a good foot.” Choosing Utah This is the first location of Fini Pizza outside the New York City area. Why did Feeney choose Utah? It goes all the way back to his childhood. Feeney visited the Beehive State to participate in the AAU National Basketball Championship at 11 years old in Salt Lake City. During that trip, he met Jazz legend Frank Layden and former players, like Luther Wright and John Crotty. He also said he “fell in love with Utah” on his first visit. His family kept coming back to the state they fell in love with, and Feeney said he always wanted to plant some kind of roots in Utah. “I just resonated with the family-first values-driven environment,” Feeney said. “When I visit Utah, I feel like there is a strong sense of family. There’s a very values-driven environment that I just love. I think about the mountains. I think about the active lifestyle people live here.” So when a friend showed him some renderings of plans for Utah City, an up-and-coming neighborhood in Vineyard, he figured this was how he could bring Fini Pizza to the state he loved so much. “I saw the mountains, and I got very excited about building a community from the ground up. And we start with pizza,” Feeney said.   A history of Fini Pizza Plans for Fini Pizza started taking shape at the end of 2020. “I’ve always loved pizzerias,” Feeney said. “I grew up in New Jersey, and most of my greatest memories of meals and birthday parties, and after soccer practices or even after funerals and wakes, we would go to our local neighborhood pizzerias growing up.” Feeney had already found success with two Italian restaurants and decided it was time to try out his pizza dream. He noticed at the time that his neighborhood in Williamsburg in New York City was getting more and more polarized. He thought, why not open a pizza place to bring people together? “I thought, that would be an exciting thing to try to do and add a pizzeria that was really focused on bringing people together and delivering good days,” Feeney said. He opened four more Fini Pizza establishments in Brooklyn over the span of six years. Now, in the Utah City cafe, illustrations of the four restaurants decorate the walls, reminding customers of the history of the place. “I thought the concept of Fini would resonate with just kind of what I love about Utah,” Feeney said.   Growing Up Around Food In New Jersey, Feeney grew up having the dinner table as an important part of his days. His mom is Italian and his dad is Irish, and he recalls having their entire families come down to their house on the Jersey Shore. “We would have these big Sunday suppers and cookouts,” Feeney said. “And I saw my Italian aunts and grandma and my mom and her sisters cooking all day and everybody else just having the best time. And I would get to see my dad be so proud to host everybody in his backyard.” His family also made the restaurant experience special for him and his siblings. His dad would make reservations for the family at “incredible restaurants” in New York City, and then he would study up on them and share the history of the restaurant and what to order. “It was all ingrained in me from an early age,” Feeney said. In 2003, Feeney moved to New York City from New Jersey to work in finance. He loved trying out new restaurants after work, and he would take clients, friends and co-workers out almost every night of the week. “Over the course of 16 years doing that five nights a week, sometimes six, I started becoming just really great friends with people in the industry,” Feeney said. He became friends with a neighbor who was a chef, and they ultimately decided to open a restaurant together — Lilia in Williamsburg. Two and a half years later, he left his day job to pursue the restaurant industry full time. Feeney said the hospitality industry “kind of found me. I just kept feeding the passion for it. And then it turned out that the people I loved most were like, ‘You should do this. You seem really happy, and you love it.’ And I haven’t really looked back since.”   The ‘magic’ of owning a restaurant The best part of owning a restaurant is the people he gets to work with, according to Feeney. “They’ve changed my life in a big way,” Feeney said. “The people that I get to work with every day and having this amazingly awesome responsibility of being in their charge, I truly am grateful. I never thought I would be in that position ever. And it’s just changed my life forever.” He called what his employees do in the hospitality industry “noble” and says when they help make a person’s day better by serving up delicious food that they create “magic.” “What they produce every single night, what we do together, it’s bigger than the sum of its parts,” Feeney said. “And that’s what I’ve loved. And I’ve loved being able to just witness people doing this for others.”   Fini Pizza giving back Fini Pizza offers 25% discounts year-round to firefighters, police officers and educators. They also have a program where children under 17 can read three books, share the title and two sentences about the books, and then receive a free pizza for them and their family. “I just wanted to continue to find creative ways to invest in the community, make the neighborhood more together, more stronger, and more connected,” Feeney said. Another way Fini Pizza is getting involved with the community is through a program called Fini Hoops. The Fini Hoops program hosts basketball teams on its own court — he tried it out in New York and loved it, so the Utah City location is also getting its own court, which is currently being built up. It will open up in June. At the court, Fini Hoops will host basketball tournaments, camps and clinics to get more kids playing ball, and then afterwards, they can enjoy some pizza. Winners of the Fini Hoops tournaments receive free pizza for life. “I just wanted to create moments for youth in basketball and connect it to pizza as well,” Feeney said. _____ READ THE ARTICLE HERE ### [Fini Pizza Utah City Grand Opening](https://utahcity.com/2026/05/07/fini-pizza-utah-city-grand-opening/) Published: 2026-05-07 Fini Pizza and Cafe is Delivering Good Days from now until forever in Utah City. Utah City was first announced in 2023 with plans to create the state's largest walkable, transit-oriented, mixed-use community focused on sustainability. When finished, Utah City will have five unique districts and more than 50 acres of parks and walking paths. Built on the redevelopment site of the former Geneva Steel complex, Utah City is entering a "banner year" as amenities begin to open, according to its marketing director, Jacklyn Briggs. "We want to do something big and special. If we're successful, then Utah is successful; that's why we named it Utah City. We want the best of Utah to be here," Briggs said. Utah City has a walkable design with protected bike lanes throughout the whole property and narrower roads to create "slower, safer streets," Briggs said. The first two residential buildings opened within the last year and have more than 450 units ranging from studio apartments to three-bedroom townhomes. Additional residential buildings are already well under construction. "We're looking for our founding residents that believe in this big vision and want to be part of it. And we're just inviting everyone to check it out," Briggs said. Because it is such a large property, the project had the opportunity to create its own district energy system using a geothermal loop, which will lead to 80% savings in carbon emissions. Investing in long-lasting materials for buildings also supports sustainability and longevity, Briggs added. "They're building it as a legacy project. And they want to invest in timeless materials, so that it lasts, and it feels like something that we can all be proud of for a long time," she said. In today's world, people are "thirsty for connection and interaction," and this community aims to provide that through amenities such as outdoor courtyards, communal lounges and kitchens, and gyms equipped entirely with Peloton equipment through a partnership with the exercise company. "Being in person in this digital world is something that's really important too, because holistically, we know that connection is one of the most important parts of wellness. And so we wanted spaces that are naturally inviting, that people could come and know their neighbors," she said. On the physical wellness side, Utah City provides outdoor workout classes and e-bike access for residents to use on the nearby trails. Developers broke ground on a wellness recovery center for the community, the Huntsman Cancer Institute is under construction and a racquet club will open this summer that has sport courts for tennis, pickleball and padel, a popular European sport. "I love Utah so much ... but it is a missing piece — the missing piece of having something that's really connected, that's incredible, that's thoughtful," Briggs said. "That just, like, gives me all the motivation in the world to keep building that." Because Utah has grown so fast, it unintentionally is missing "third spaces" where people can just exist together. Briggs didn't think Utah would ever have the chance to create something like this community and she is overjoyed seeing it come to life. "Because we have 700 acres and not 30 acres, we can actually do something that has a big impact if we plan it correctly. (And) 2026 is an incredible year for momentum, and then it's just going to keep happening from there," Briggs said. From the train to the lake A central part of Utah City is a "12-acre connection piece" running from the Vineyard FrontRunner station to the shore of Utah Lake. The Greenline will be a series of parks and community spaces, including a waterfront area, a dog park, volleyball courts, a playground, a concert venue, and retail space right outside the train station. While many FrontRunner stops are still about a mile away from the main city centers, the Greenline will immediately connect train passengers to the community, Briggs said. Additional road and pedestrian bridges will be constructed to connect residents to the waterfront area. On Saturday, Utah City opened the Berliner Play Area, a whimsical all-abilities playground featuring a hot-air balloon structure kids can climb. Further east on the Greenline and opening in October will be a "micro retail concept" with 10 rotating retailers selling unique experience-based products. "There's a lot of copy-paste chains and we just really want to make sure that our experiences are curated," Briggs said. "So it has to be something that you could only get here." Utah City will also open its first restaurant next month, Fini's Pizza and Cafe, located right next to the grocery store Bella's Market. Utah City will be the first official out-of-state location for the Brooklyn-based pizzeria. Renowned for its pizza and community involvement, the restaurant will install a custom Fini Hoops basketball court right outside to continue its legacy of advocacy through community sports. Briggs explained that cofounder Sean Feeney has always had an affinity for Utah ever since attending a basketball summer camp as a kid. When he heard about Utah City, he knew it would be the perfect place, she said. "I've long said our first venture outside of New York would be Utah," Feeney said in a statement. "It may surprise people, but the state's family-first values, discipline and entrepreneurial spirit align perfectly with how we operate." Throughout all of Utah City, the architecture and design were crucial because "the design, in our eyes, is an amenity," Briggs said. "If spaces are beautiful, you feel really good, then that just elevates your everyday life." ____ READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ### [Beloved New York-style slice shop Fini Pizza is opening a Utah City location!](https://utahcity.com/2026/04/24/beloved-new-york-style-slice-shop-fini-pizza-is-opening-a-utah-city-location/) Published: 2026-04-24 THE PLACE: Beloved New York-style slice shop Fini Pizza is making its first foray outside of the Empire State by opening in Utah City - and you're invited to the ribbon cutting and celebration! It will simultaneously launch the neighboring Fini Café, Utah City’s new morning anchor serving premium, single-origin espresso along with pastries, savory treats, and light bites. It’s an inviting setting to start the day, socialize, or do some remote work. Known for its classic New York and Sicilian-style pizzas and neighborhood vibe, Fini Pizza has built a loyal following through its commitment to simple, high-quality ingredients and a welcoming, neighborhood-centric atmosphere. The Utah City location marks an exciting expansion for the brand, introducing its iconic slices, whole pies, and curated menu of salads, beverages, and Italian ices to a new audience. Fini is the first New York City pizza brand to launch in Utah. Co-founder Sean Feeney’s connection to Utah dates back to childhood. At age 11, he traveled from New Jersey to compete in the AAU Basketball National Championships, where early encounters with Utah Jazz figures and the state’s welcoming community left a lasting impression. Utah quickly became a meaningful place for his family, who returned over the years and deepened their connection to the Beehive State. While many expected his first expansion beyond New York City to land in larger, metropolitan markets, Feeney always had a different vision. “I’ve long said our first venture outside of New York would be Utah,” he noted. “It may surprise people, but the state’s family-first values, discipline, and entrepreneurial spirit align perfectly with how we operate.” Utah’s allure strengthened in recent years, as a growing number of Feeney’s New York City friends and loyal customers have relocated to the state. The decision ultimately became about more than expansion. With Utah City, Feeney saw a rare opportunity to be part of something from the ground up—helping shape a new community while bringing a taste of New York with it, especially for his friends who crave it. “This isn’t just about opening another restaurant,” he said. “It’s about contributing to something that belongs to Utah as much as it does to New York.” At the heart of Fini Pizza is a philosophy rooted in community and hospitality. The brand emphasizes inclusivity and aims to create spaces where guests feel like they belong—an extension of what the company calls “The FINI Way,” centered on bringing people together and delivering memorable experiences. First responders and teachers always enjoy The Good Day discount: 25 percent off their orders. Kids who read three books in a month earn a free pie. In June, the team will introduce Fini Hoops, a community basketball league that brings courts, culture, and connection to Utah City. Fini has a program called Clean Streets, in which they purchase and maintain trash cans throughout the neighborhoods they serve. “Fini Pizza and Fini Café support the sense of community Utah City has created for our residents and visitors. With their commitment to building community, adding value, and bringing programs to enrich the lives of our neighbors, we felt their expansion into Utah was the perfect fit for the vision and future of Utah City, and we are thrilled to have them here,” said Jacklyn Briggs, director of marketing for Utah City. The Utah City opening reflects Fini Pizza’s thoughtful growth beyond its original Brooklyn roots, expanding its reach while maintaining the authenticity and quality that define the brand. VINEYARD, Utah — As the highly anticipated urban core of Utah County, Utah City, a 700-acre mixed-use development, is poised to have a pivotal year in 2026. Having recently debuted Bella’s Market to serve the earliest residents as well as the greater Vineyard area, Utah City is actively planning the launch of new amenities in the coming months to complement its first residential phase, which opened last year. “Utah City is taking shape, and 2026 marks the first year that the community will increasingly experience the promise of this vibrant and walkable mixed-use development,” says Jacklyn Briggs, Director of Marketing for Utah City, which is situated between Utah Lake and the Wasatch Mountains. “Whether it’s the Utah City Racquet Club, the new Berliner Play Area, or Fini Pizza & Cafe, the celebrated pizza concept from New York, everything we are building is with the clear intention to promote wellness and social connectedness in an easily accessible cultural hub. Below is a summary of the visionary, new offerings debuting in Utah City this year.   Berliner Park (April 18) – An all-abilities, movement-forward play destination anchored by Utah’s first and only hot air balloon-inspired structure from award-winning international play designers Berliner Seilfabrik Play Equipment Corporation will have its grand opening celebration for the community on Saturday, April 18. Berliner Park’s imaginative features promise to captivate kids and their parents for quality outdoor time that promotes movement and exploration. Reaching nearly 35 feet in height, the balloon offers a spectacular view from inside. Poised to become an iconic Utah City landmark, this is the first Berliner structure in the United States that lights up and will cast a warm glow across the shores of Utah Lake from its position on The Greenline, 12 acres of open space in the heart of Utah City. Additional park features include a ropes course, a large embankment slide, a variety of climbing components, and a splash pad. Fini Pizza & Fini Café (Spring) – From Brooklyn to Utah City, Fini Pizza and its neighboring Fini Café are making their first foray outside of New York. The community-focused Fini Pizza concept recreates the classic NYC pizza shop experience, offering pizza by the slice or pie, salads, and Italian Ice. Next door, Fini Café is Utah City’s morning anchor serving premium, single-origin espresso along with pastries, savory treats, and light bites – this extension of home is a bright and welcoming way to start the day. The Fini brand is celebrated for its commitment to building community and being an authentic neighborhood partner. The brand’s founders look forward to bringing this culture to Utah City. First responders and teachers enjoy 25% off their orders. Kids who read three books in a month are treated to a free pie. They will also introduce Fini Hoops, a community basketball league that brings courts, culture, and connection to Utah City. Fini Hoops (Summer) – Activated through a partnership with Fini Pizza’s Fini Hoops initiative, Fini Hoops will feature a fully custom court where community-focused clinics and leagues will play right outside of Fini Pizza. The Fini Hoops Invitational will mark the court’s debut in June. Utah City Racquet Club (Spring) – Set to open this spring, the Utah City Racquet Club brings together three of the fastest-growing sports in the country—padel, tennis, and pickleball. The club’s outdoor courts are elevated in both programming and design, featuring shaded lounges and dedicated viewing areas. It will offer leagues, lessons, tournaments, and social events for players at all levels. The Greenline Waterfront Park Phase One (Summer) – The Greenline is currently home to the central play area, the UC Sweat outdoor fitness classes, while also serving as a hub for year-round events and gatherings. The first phase of the Waterfront Park consists of greenery and landscaping, which will debut this summer. Subsequent additions to the Waterfront Park part of The Greenline include a large event amphitheater, wellness center, an expansive, off-leash dog park, sand volleyball courts, and a connection to Utah Lake. Here Here Shops Phase One Retail (Fall) – Located at the heart of The Greenline, the Here Here is Utah City’s experiential retail village. This first phase of retail introduces a dynamic collection of 10 thoughtfully curated, intimate retail spaces anchored by a central restaurant that serves as the social and culinary centerpiece. Designed to evolve with culture, the Here Here reimagines traditional retail. Each space is intentionally built for flexibility – hosting a rotating mix of partner brands, from pop-ups and limited runs to immersive brand houses that encourage discovery. The result is a retail destination that is regularly refreshed and current, offering something unique to Utah’s retail landscape. The first brands will be announced in the coming months. Corix District Energy – Utah City is establishing environmentally-friendly energy self-reliance by creating a scalable network for geothermal heating and cooling distributed to all buildings in the 700-acre master-planned development. Under its regulatory oversight, the Utah Public Service Commission (“PSC”) has approved Corix as a designated heat corporation, authorizing the company to provide both heating and cooling services within Utah. This first-of-its-kind decision establishes a new regulatory precedent, bridging innovation with energy constraint challenges and enabling the delivery of reliable, cost-effective heating and cooling. In addition to its use of geothermal technology. Utah City’s district energy leverages recycled waste heat to efficiently power residential and commercial buildings, creating a cost-effective solution that protects Utah’s beauty for generations to come “As local developers creating a legacy-style urban core for our community, we have brought together nationally renowned visionaries in sustainability, walkable communities, architecture, and design,” said Nate Hutchinson, Managing Partner of Flagborough, the developer of Utah City. “A leading example of ambitious and purposeful, traditional urban planning, Utah City is being designed to fulfill a current need and with future generations in mind.” Utah City by the Numbers At full build-out, Utah City will feature five unique districts, each with its own personality. 50-plus acres of parks and walking paths 17 million square feet of mixed-use space About Utah City Utah City is a groundbreaking, 700-acre development along the eastern shore of Utah Lake in Utah County. These are just some of the amenities being offered to Utah renters as more and more apartment communities open up across the state. One of the newest communities being built in Utah County - Utah City in Vineyard - is a reflection of how renters aren’t just looking for a place to live anymore, but an entire community experience. Surveys show that apartment renters tend to lean towards places that create communities, where shops, restaurants and entertainment are just steps away. “I’m all about convenience," said Olivia Lindsley, a resident of Utah City. "I love that the grocery store is right down the street. I walk to it - to the gym that’s close by.” Lindsley moved into an apartment building in the heart of the new Utah City development. The 700-acre property in Vineyard is still under development, but will soon be a walkable community featuring new restaurants, a racketball club, and lots of green space. "I’ve been in other places and Vinyard for a good amount of time, and I really wanted somewhere that had a good gym so that I didn’t have to drive," said Lindsley, explaining why she chose Utah City over other places to live. Utah City marketing director Jacklynn Briggs said when it comes to amenities here, they are thought out. “We really think about it as basic infrastructure for lifestyle," she said. Multiple reports show that Gen Z, the highest population of renters, is playing a role in shaping the way these communities look. Filling them with things like wellness and community spaces. “These kinds of things we know make people’s lives better because they have easy access to them and the proximity, steps from their door, makes it so they actually use them,” Briggs said. Briggs said there are some costs that are factored into the space. "That’s another way we are thinking about affordability," she said. "If you live somewhere and you're also having to get into your car, go pay for a separate gym that may cost you hundreds of dollars a month." She added that in Utah City, professionals don’t need to pay for workspaces and drive to parks. With an average monthly rent payment of $1600 that includes amenities, Briggs said costs level out. “When we think about the global perspective of our amenities," said Briggs. "They really help reduce the expense for residents who live here.” Lindsley said she sees herself living here for a long time as the community grows. “It’s just so fun to be part of something that is not as traditional as Utah County is,” said Lindsley. ____ READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE ### [Utah Approves Its First Heating and Cooling Thermal Public Utility for Utah City](https://utahcity.com/2026/02/25/utah-approves-its-first-heating-and-cooling-thermal-public-utility-for-utah-city/) Published: 2026-02-25 Herald Journal News: Corix Secures Regulatory Approval for Utah's First Heating and Cooling Thermal Public Utility Corix Utah City Heating and Cooling LLC ("Corix"), a leading developer, owner, and operator of district energy systems, has achieved a landmark regulatory decision in the Utah energy market. In a first for the state, the Utah Public Service Commission ("PSC") has approved Corix as a designated heat corporation, authorizing the company to provide both heating and cooling services within Utah. This first-of-its-kind decision establishes a new regulatory precedent, bridging energy constraint challenges with innovation and enabling the delivery of reliable, cost-effective heating and cooling under regulatory oversight. The approval enables Corix to develop and operate a district energy system for Utah City, a new mixed-use, walkable development in Vineyard, Utah. The master-planned community by developer Utah City Partners will integrate residential, retail, commercial, and medical research space into a dynamic urban destination. At its core, Corix's district energy system features an interconnected underground network of pipes with a centralized energy plant designed to share equipment and energy sources between buildings more efficiently than conventional approaches. With its modular, flexible design, the system is purpose-built to scale, enabling incremental capacity to be added as the development progresses. At full build-out, it will serve 18 million square feet of mixed-use space, with service to begin later this year. The PSC regulates public utilities in Utah, including electric and natural gas utilities, safeguarding customers by ensuring services are safe, reliable, and fairly priced. Recognizing Corix as a regulated heat corporation extends those same protections for Utah City, providing customers with transparency, accountability, and dependable energy. The designation not only advances Utah's energy objectives and economic growth, but also supports a cleaner, more efficient utility model that strengthens community resilience and improves quality of life for residents and businesses in Utah City and the broader region. "This precedent-setting decision from the PSC represents a defining milestone in our partnership with Utah City Partners to bring Utah City to life as a world-class, vibrant community," said Lisa Sparrow, Chief Executive Officer at Corix. "It also underscores our long-term commitment to investing in critical infrastructure across Utah -- supporting growth, resilience, and economic development statewide."   About Corix Corix develops, owns, and operates enduring infrastructure for communities across North America. They partner with developers, municipalities, universities, hospitals, and other stakeholders to develop the reliable and cost-effective thermal energy they need to thrive. Corix has decades of utility development, ownership and operations experience serving communities of different sizes -- from single-sites to master-planned communities.  For more information, visit corix.com.   About Utah City Utah City is a groundbreaking, 700-acre development along the eastern shore of Utah Lake in Utah County. While that growth brings vibrant economic opportunity, it often brings a familiar frustration: the commute. For decades, the "Utah County crawl" on I-15 has been a staple of daily life. But what if your commute didn’t start with a car key? At Utah City, we are proving that density, when done with intention, doesn’t create chaos—it creates connection. By prioritizing the "Walkable Urban Advantage," we are building a sustainable foundation for movement that saves the one resource we can’t make more of: time.   Redefining the Utah County Commute The backbone of any functional urban center is access to multi-nodal transit. The Vineyard FrontRunner Station—the first new station in a decade—serves as the gateway to Utah City. Positioned on the 83-mile line between Ogden and Provo, this station drives economic opportunity. Whether you are a student, a daily commuter, or a visitor, the ability to step off a train and be home in minutes is a game-changer. This connectivity allows residents to bypass I-15 gridlock, providing a seamless link to the entire Wasatch Front.   Sustainability Through Time-Saving When people hear "sustainability," they often think of energy. At Utah City, we think of lifestyle. A walkable city is designed to be safe, interesting, comfortable, and useful. By slowing down cars, widening sidewalks, and adding lush street trees, we’ve designed Utah City’s streets to be enjoyed, not just endured. Does a walkable city mean no cars? Absolutely not. Utah City is designed with ample parking and accessibility in mind. However, our mixed-use philosophy means your everyday trips—to the office, the park, or the pharmacy—don't require a car. When you mix retail, residential, and green space, you trade traffic jams for a stroll.   Density Done Right: A Healthier Future Utah City isn’t Los Angeles or Brooklyn. We are a unique mountain-metro community built from a "blank slate." This allows us to use innovative practices from the ground up: Water-Wise Landscapes: Efficient irrigation and stormwater management are baked into the design. Efficient Infrastructure: No retrofitting needed. Every building is highly efficient and built to last for generations. 50 Acres of Open Space: A 12-acre promenade will run from the FrontRunner station directly to the shores of Utah Lake, complemented by a network of parks and paseos.   Live Where You Move: 220 Bend is Now Open The vision of a walkable Utah County is no longer a "future plan"—it is a current reality. We recently celebrated the Grand Opening of 220 Bend, a new layer of residences, shared amenities, and well-considered social spaces and common areas that are built to support a life that feels connected. Living at 220 Bend or 120 Bend puts you at the heart of this transformation. Walkable, welcoming and ready to explore, imagine a Saturday morning where you walk to Bella’s Market for local favorites and everyday essentials, are served by your neighborhood Pharmacy, join our community sweat sessions on the Greenline, or grab a slice at Fini Pizza or Fini Café. With Hoops and Racquet Club coming this May, your expanded fitness and social life are just steps from your front door. Utah City is envisioned as part of the solution to our growing state, crafted with care, conviction and a vision of what’s possible for Utah. We are building the foundation and infrastructure that allow you to spend less time behind the wheel and more time doing what you love.   Explore the Future of Living Ready to ditch the commute and embrace the walkable advantage? Explore 220 Bend Residences and see how Utah City is redefining life in Utah County. ### [220 Bend Opens As The Final Phase of The Bend Community](https://utahcity.com/2026/02/03/utah-business-220-bend-opens-as-the-final-phase-of-the-120-220-bend-community-in-utah-city/) Published: 2026-02-03 Utah Business: 220 Bend opens as the final phase of the 120 & 220 Bend community in Utah City Offering new residences and expanded shared amenities. UTAH CITY, Utah — As Utah County’s population growth continues to fuel housing demand, especially among young professionals, Utah City is meeting this need with new housing in its walkable, 700-acre mixed-use community being built in the heart of Vineyard. Opening alongside its companion, 120 Bend, 220 expands on a community built on a foundation of connectedness. The collection of 452 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and townhomes adds a new layer of rental residences, shared amenities, and thoughtfully designed social spaces that support an enriched lifestyle. “The completion of 220 Bend, along with the addition of new townhomes at 120 Bend, marks an exciting moment for Utah City as we open the doors of our first residential address to even more residents,” said Jacklyn Briggs, director of marketing for Utah City. “Opening the first phase of 120 Bend offered an early glimpse into what life in Utah City could be. Now, with Bella’s Market open and the final phase of 120 & 220 Bend complete, the future is taking shape—along with much more to come as we continue to open and announce new amenities and openings throughout 2026.” 220 Bend’s opening follows the successful launch of locally owned and operated Bella’s Market, which provides a much-needed grocery store for the over 23,0000 residents of Vineyard and for current and future Utah City residents. 220 Bend along with the additional Townhomes in 120 Bend add an additional 150 residences to the community. In fact, it’s expanding them, transforming the idea of “home” into a connected ecosystem that now spans entire communities. The connected fitness company’s latest move plants its equipment and fitness content inside Utah City, a 700-acre mixed-use development on the eastern shore of Utah Lake. The new community has tapped Peloton to create what the companies call Utah’s only “Peloton-powered community,” where every residential building features Peloton Spaces. This partnership follows Peloton’s launch of the Pro Series, a commercial-grade lineup for hotels, offices and residential spaces that extends the brand’s reach from connected fitness to connected living. At Utah City, each Peloton-branded space is outfitted with Peloton Bikes, Rows, and, beginning in early 2026, the new commercial Peloton Tread+ Pro. Residents will also have access to private Peloton-powered workout pods with mats and weights, plus Peloton IQ’s adaptive training technology, which uses AI to personalize workout plans and performance insights over time. It’s fitting that the project is rising in Utah, recently ranked the third healthiest state in the nation, recognized for its low alcohol and tobacco use and strong wellness culture. A free outdoor fitness class led by Peloton instructor Kirra Michel kicked off the partnership, drawing more than 200 attendees. Utah City says it plans to welcome additional Peloton instructors in the future. “We’re incredibly excited to partner with Utah City, a forward-thinking development that shares our commitment to wellness and community,” said Peloton senior vice president and business general manager Greg Hybl. “For the first time, Peloton will serve as the primary fitness partner for an entire residential development, with Peloton’s full Pro Series Line available to residents soon.” Designed by city planner Jeff Speck and DPZ, Utah City integrates fitness and mobility into its infrastructure, emphasizing walkability and public green space, key principles shaping the wellness real estate market. Peloton’s new strategy appears to be resonating with brands looking to redefine wellness on their own terms. On Oct. 23, Hyatt is taking over Peloton Studios New York for an experiential event exclusive to its World of Hyatt credit card members, expanding a partnership that already rewards travelers for completing Peloton workouts at more than 700 hotels worldwide. The event is open exclusively to card members and their guests, who can choose from six classes led by Peloton’s top instructors and includes a live panel discussion on travel-friendly wellness routines. ____ READ THE ARTICLE HERE ### [Utah City’s New Peloton Partnership](https://utahcity.com/2025/10/30/utah-citys-new-peloton-partnership/) Published: 2025-10-30 Utah City integrates wellness with residential living through new Peloton partnership VINEYARD — In what is set to become a booming "urban core" of Utah County, the development of Utah City is taking a step in boosting the well-being of its current and future residents. A newly formed partnership with Peloton adds another phase amid the development of the 700-acre mixed-use community located on the eastern shore of Utah Lake, a press release from Utah City announced. The development eventually plans to become a walkable, transit-oriented, mixed-use destination in the heart of Vineyard. Jacklyn Briggs, director of marketing for Utah City, said in efforts to align with the development's goal of providing convenient access for people who want to live an active lifestyle, it's partnered with the global at-home fitness brand to outfit Peloton equipment in each multifamily building in Utah City. "Utah City is a wellness and well-being focused community," she said. Briggs added that Utah City aims to provide the infrastructure and opportunities — whether indoors or outdoors — to make it more accessible for people prioritizing health and fitness as part of their everyday routine. "Our design is a walkable city, and we want to build everything on a human scale, because people are the most important part of the development — the people that live there, the people that visit there, the people that do business there, and Peloton is the same," she explained. "Their ethos is all around building a community. It's not just about a rower or a bike or treadmill — it's about building a community around it." According to Utah City, it's currently the only Peloton-powered community in the state. Briggs said the partnership came at no cost, though residents using the facilities will have the access as part of their rental or lease agreements. Each residential building will have what's called "Peloton Spaces," serving as co-branded workout areas featuring Peloton's bike and row equipment, the press release states. As part of the partnership, tenants in the respective residential units will have access to both private workout pods and fully equipped gym spaces, offering a variety of fitness gear. Peloton recently incorporated artificial intelligence into its fitness equipment, called Peloton IQ, which allows users to personalize their workout plans, track their progress and see performance insights, similar to a personal trainer. "It's just this greater movement and a greater access to a full platform, rather than an individual equipment," Briggs said. "And that's actually why we wanted to partner with Peloton exclusively." Greg Hybl, senior vice president and general manager of Peloton for Business, said the at-home fitness company is excited to partner with Utah City. "For the first time, Peloton will serve as the primary fitness partner for an entire residential development, with Peloton's full Pro Series Line available to residents soon," he said in a statement. "We believe this collaboration sets a new standard for wellness in large-scale developments, and we are proud to be a part of it." In August, Utah City hosted a free, outdoor class for the public on its partially finished green line promenade, led by Peloton yoga instructor Kirra Michel. According to Briggs, more than 200 people attended the class. "It was a treat to host Kirra Michel, who was so well received," she said in a statement. "We look forward to welcoming more of Peloton's revered instructors to unite people through movement in a community where parks, trails and public spaces are prioritized to support an active, connected way of life." Briggs said Utah City aims to do similar outdoor events next year as its community and partnership with Peloton evolves. "We are going to be introducing activations on the waterfront and along the Utah Lake shoreline trail," she told KSL.com. "So, I mean, I would love to see some content for Peloton even being filmed in the area; because, again, we have such amazing outdoor spaces." ____ READ THE ARTICLE HERE ### [Peloton Introduces New Commercial Equipment Line– the Peloton Pro Series](https://utahcity.com/2025/10/08/peloton-introduces-new-commercial-equipment-line-the-peloton-pro-series/) Published: 2025-10-08 As an official Peloton Community, Utah City is now equipped with the Peloton Bike+ Pro and Row+ Pro, and will be among the first communities to roll out the Tread+ Pro as it begins shipping this month. Bella’s Market is being built in Utah City, an ambitious 700-acre master-planned community fronted by the Woodbury Corp. and Flagship Cos. that is in the early stages of development on the site of the former Geneva Steel Mill in Vineyard. The grocery store, which will be supported and managed by Logan-based Lee’s Marketplace through a partnership with Utah City, is one of the first amenities planned in Utah City. And constructing it was high on the developer’s priority list, said Abel Porter, the director of strategic initiatives for Utah City and an operating partner for Bella’s Market. “We truly did listen to the residents when thinking through how we were going to — and when we were going to — build the grocery store,” Porter said. “In fact, as we were feeling it out for the last two years or 18 months or so, most experts in the industry would tell you that Vineyard is not ready to have its own grocery store yet, just from a population standpoint. “Even though we were given that advice from a couple of different sources, we still thought it was important enough to push it to the very front of the priority list in terms of building it and getting it open,” he added. “We’ve had boots on the ground down there. We’ve heard everyone say that a grocery store in Vineyard would be super beneficial to their lives.” READ MORE   ### [Utah City Breaks Ground on Bella’s Market](https://utahcity.com/2025/02/13/utah-city-breaks-ground-on-bellas-market/) Published: 2025-02-13 First images released of the new store The new store is expected to open at the end of the year   UTAH CITY, Utah – (February 13, 2025) – Bella’s Market, an exciting new addition to the Vineyard community and Utah City development, has broken ground, marking a significant milestone in the grocery store’s development. This highly anticipated grocery store will be one of the first amenities to Utah City, the 700-acre mixed-use masterplan community located on the eastern shore of Utah Lake. "We are thrilled to see Bella’s Market starting to come to life," said Abel Porter, partner at Bella's Market. "This project has a lot of excitement surrounding it. The addition of a grocery store was the most highly requested feature for Utah City—we heard that request time and time again. So, we set out to bring this vision to life and create a market that not only offers great essentials but also serves as a hub for the community through the attached café and restaurant." Located at 875 N. Main St. in Vineyard, Bella’s Market will feature 40,000 square feet of thoughtfully designed space, inspired by the pedestrian-oriented communal experience of Utah City. The grocery store has been designed to naturally encourage social interactions and engagement among shoppers through its layout. Architecture firm RDC is leading the design for Bella’s Market with the interior design firm, DyeLot.  RDC has been a leader in grocery architecture since 1979. The firm currently works with grocery industry leaders Erewhon, Kroger, Aldi and Bristol Farms. “RDC works with clients to bring the latest trends to each demographic and incorporate technology that is cutting edge to the grocery environment, including sustainability and customer experience initiatives,” said Terry Todd, AIA, principal with RDC. The construction, led by Flagborough, the developers behind Utah City, is progressing on schedule, with key milestones including completion of the architectural and design phase and an expected completion date by the end of 2025. The grocery store is expected to start hiring store positions in early fall. Through operating partner Lee’s Marketplace, Bella’s Market is a member of Associated Foods Stores, a cooperative that empowers independent grocers with the competitive pricing and buying power of a major chain while maintaining local ownership and community focus. This partnership allows Bella’s Market to offer customers high-quality products at family-conscious pricing. “Bellas Market is an exciting project with a shared vision of what the Vineyard community has been needing”, said Jonathan Badger, CEO of Lee’s Marketplace. “We are happy to be part of bringing a neighborhood gathering place with local fresh foods, drive thru pharmacy, and friendly team members. We look forward to welcoming the community to their new store as we continue to progress towards opening the doors.” “I am thrilled we have been able to work alongside the developers to bring Bella’s Market to our community,” said Vineyard Mayor Julie Fullmer. “This project is a testament to our shared commitment to delivering much needed grocery options years ahead of what others might have been able to achieve. Bella’s Market will provide an additional anchor to our growing downtown that not only provides fresh food but will create a dynamic space for our residents to gather and connect.” The community is encouraged to follow @utahcityutah and @vineyardcity on Instagram for monthly updates on construction and upcoming community giveaway. Partnering with landscape architecture firm OJB, DIG Studio, and Brightview Utah City will plant over 1000 trees this spring and break ground on the new 12-acre Greenline promenade, all within the first 50-acres of its 700-acre master-planned development. This initiative reflects Utah City’s dedication to revitalizing the area, prioritizing environmental sustainability, and blending nature with timeless architecture.   Trees played a fundamental role in the design of The Greenline in Utah City. Trees were used to organize and shape each of the key spaces that included perimeter streetscapes, the multi-use lawn, picnic pavilions, the children’s play areas, garden courts and botanical plantings. Trees were laid out to define areas within the park, creating natural boundaries, guiding pathways, and areas of shade that enhance the flow and usability of the landscape. Various tree species were selected to complement each of the park spaces, making them more comfortable and inviting. Species were selected for their varied foliage, both evergreen and deciduous.   “Trees are indispensable in parks, enriching the ecological, aesthetic, and recreational value of these cherished green spaces,” said OJB Principal Jereck Boss. "Our design process—from thoughtfully laying out and selecting the best tree varieties, to tagging the highest-quality stock and ensuring careful planting in well-prepared soil—ensures that the trees along The Greenline will grow and thrive. It’s all about creating a meaningful connection between people and nature."   The tree selection process, already underway this November, considers Utah's unique climate and the selections are drought tolerant with low water requirements. The chosen species include Ruby Sunset Maples, Emerald Sunshine Elms, Prairie Gold Quaking Aspens, and Norwegian Sunset Maples. The selected trees will offer vital habitats for wildlife, fostering biodiversity and seasonal interest. To ensure water efficiency, the project employs subsurface irrigation, smart irrigation controllers, and landscaping techniques designed to minimize water waste while maximizing shade and beauty. As the trees mature, a robust tree canopy has been designed to reduce the urban heat island effect and transform the city into a walkable, shaded sanctuary that balances city life with a variety of outdoor community spaces.   “Planting these trees is an investment in our city’s future,” said Vineyard Mayor Julie Fullmer. “This initiative promotes thoughtful growth and a balanced blend of nature and urban life. This initiative ensures our community becomes a thriving place for families and businesses, inspiring growth that neighboring cities resonate with and match.”   The trees will adorn iconic areas of Utah City, including the first residential streets, Main Street and The Greenline promenade that will run from the Vineyard FrontRunner Station through the center of Utah City to the shores of Utah Lake. The first phase of The Greenline promenade will feature an all-abilities play area and several event lawns that will be programmed year-round.  Phase one of The Greenline will be open to the public in the summer of 2025.   “We are just getting started,” said Nate Hutchinson, co-managing partner for Flagship Home. “Our goal is to create outdoor spaces that people truly love and connect with. These green spaces aren't just about adding beauty – they're about creating places where families, friends, and neighbors can come together, relax, and make memories. We believe that investing in accessible, welcoming and beautiful spaces makes Utah City a vibrant, healthy, and sustainable community where everyone can enjoy an awesome quality of life.”   “We are excited for Utahns to start to be able to use the amenities of this project that we want everyone – whether you are a resident of Utah City or not – to come and enjoy and participate in,” said Jeff Woodbury, senior vice president of development and acquisitions for Woodbury Corporation. “The Greenline will be one of the most thoughtfully planned, entertaining and beautiful gathering places for all Utahns in the state.”   The "Greening of Utah City" initiative will officially launch with a ceremonial tree planting event in the spring of 2025, inviting community members and media to celebrate the planting of The Greenline’s first tree. Marking the beginning of a long-term effort to establish Utah City as the cultural, environmental, and social heart of Utah County.   About Utah City:   Utah City is a groundbreaking development in Utah County, spanning over 700-acres along Utah Lake's eastern shore, developed through a partnership between The Flagship Companies and Woodbury Corporation. This significant contribution from Woodbury Corporation and Flagship Companies, in partnership with the City of Vineyard, will pave the way for the establishment of the state-of-the-art Huntsman Cancer Institute campus in Utah County. Huntsman Cancer Institute is the National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center for Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming and Montana. Situated on a 48-acre plot of land just north of Vineyard Station, the new20-acre campus will provide patients and their families breathtaking views of Utah Lake and the majestic Wasatch Mountains. Strategically located near FrontRunner service, I-15, and Provo Municipal Airport, the campus will also significantly decrease travel time for people from Southern Utah and surrounding states. This convenient site tackles a major health care disparity, allowing Huntsman Cancer Institute to extend its reach and provide outstanding care to more patients across the region. "We are immensely grateful to the Flagship Companies and Woodbury Corporation for their generous land donation and for the exciting vision they have created for Utah City," says Mary Beckerle, PhD, CEO of Huntsman Cancer Institute, and distinguished professor of biology at the U. "This new campus will enable us to expand access to our world-class cancer research and leading-edge cancer care as an integral part of a vibrant, health-centered community. The proximity to Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University further enhances our ability to collaborate with academic institutions and foster hands-on learning for the next generation of cancer scientists and health care providers." Huntsman Cancer Institute envisions this location as one that will create a healing and tranquil environment for patients. Nestled among the beauty of Utah Lake and Mount Timpanogos, the campus will be designed as a walkable community with multi-mode transit options. This will allow patients and their loved ones to effortlessly navigate a serene and peaceful atmosphere. “Through this donation to Huntsman Cancer Institute, we’re not content with just building structures; we’re creating a cancer-fighting hub in the center of our walkable city,” says Nate Hutchison, co-managing partner of Flagship Companies. “Our community is designed around active living, aiming to prevent cancer one step at a time. Welcoming one of the crown jewels of Utah is an honor—a beautiful legacy for all of us in this county and region.” This expansion signifies Huntsman Cancer Institute's unwavering commitment to its mission—eradicate cancer through research, education, and patient care. With expanded facilities and resources, the institute will be able to accommodate more patients, offer a wider range of innovative treatments, and accelerate research efforts, bringing us closer than ever to a future free from cancer. “It is a privilege to have such a venerable, lifesaving facility as a partner and resident of Utah County. This is something that is needed! Fighting cancer and finding a cure requires a lot of resources. We are honored and humbled to contribute our resources to the cause,” said Jeff Woodbury, Sr., vice president of development and acquisitions for Woodbury Corporation. “Wellness and innovation will always be a top priority throughout the development of Utah City, and Huntsman Cancer Institute is a leader in both of those fronts.” The $20 million land donation from Utah City marks a significant milestone in Huntsman Cancer Institute’s vision of delivering a cancer-free frontier. Cars + Walkability What does it mean to be a walkable city? A walkable city is designed to be safe, interesting, comfortable, and useful. By slowing cars down, widening sidewalks, adding street trees, and emphasizing pedestrian crossings, we are designing Utah City Streets to be safe and enjoyable to navigate. We have designed a mixture of uses near each other in Utah City. Mixing retail, office, parks, and residential allows people the option of walking instead of driving for some of their everyday trips. Utah City residents can and likely will own cars. In fact, it was designed with ample parking in mind; walkability just means that amenities within Utah City won’t require a car to reach them. Safer Streets Utah City will have designated walking and biking paths protected by landscaping barriers that weave through the entire community. Streets are designed to be comfortable for pedestrians and bikers. Cars will feel uncomfortable driving fast and will be slowed down significantly through the design of narrow streets, allowing freedom to safely navigate anywhere you need to go with or without a car.   Community First Housing in Utah City is designed to encourage social interaction. Homes open into a network of pedestrian pathways that feed into courtyards and paseos – creating opportunities to interact with your neighbors and build strong relationships. One of the most critical aspects of building Utah City is returning to resilient communities built on shared experiences and a strong sense of community.   Traffic Utah County is projected to be the fastest-growing county in Utah. There is a vital need to plan and prepare sufficient infrastructure to support this inevitable growth. Planning and preparing for growth now will avoid future issues. Our planning and development team works constantly with the city, county, UDOT, and the Utah Transit Authority to ensure the necessary transportation networks are designed, built, and functioning to accommodate the area’s growth. Outside of the transportation network within the downtown, our top priority is working with these groups to move people in and out of Vineyard as safely and quickly as possible.   A Healthier Future One of the most exciting aspects of building a new community from a blank slate is the opportunity to use innovative practices right from the start. Utah City can use the best design principles that offer environmental benefits without needing to retrofit buildings. This will create an entire community built with highly efficient buildings that are built to last for future generations. We also have water conservation in mind through water-wise landscapes, efficient irrigation practices, and innovative stormwater management. Whether you choose to enjoy the parks, shopping or restaurants in Utah City, or you choose to live in Utah City, you are an essential part of the ongoing conversation to build a solid and sustainable community.   But why name it Utah City? We love Vineyard and we acknowledge the great responsibility to create something worthy of Vineyard’s current and future residents. Utah City is named to draw the best in business, retail and hospitality, quickly familiarizing those outside of Utah with its location and significance within the state. We aim to bring incredible amenities you can’t find anywhere else in Utah or the region right here to Vineyard.   Whether you choose to enjoy the parks, shopping or restaurants in Utah City, or you choose to live in Utah City, you are an essential part of the ongoing conversation to build a solid and sustainable community. Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox, Vineyard City Mayor Julie Fullmer, UTA’s Board of Trustees and Executive Director Jay Fox were on hand to celebrate the start of service. Vineyard Station – a walkable, mixed-use development: Located on the eastern shore of Utah Lake, Vineyard Station is over 800 acres of master-planned new development focusing on sustainability and walkability. It will offer places to live, work, shop, dine, worship and more, with a promenade running through the center of it leading to Utah Lake. “There is nothing else like this being developed in Utah right now,” said Nate Hutchinson and Jeff Woodbury of Vineyard Station, in a joint statement. “Working closely with Vineyard City, Utah County, UTA, UDOT, UVU and the Utah Lake Commission, this development will highlight the natural amenities of the city – such as the lake and mountain views – and also encourage a transit-oriented, walkable lifestyle made possible by UTA’s Vineyard FrontRunner Station and the vision of Jeff Speck.” “As we continue to design and develop one of the largest regional developments in the state, centralized in fast-growing Utah County, our vision to connect people regionally and worldwide to jobs, higher education, home, and recreation, is taking shape at Vineyard Station,” said Julie Fullmer, mayor of Vineyard and chair of Vineyard’s Regional Development Board. “Designing this area in partnership with walkability expert Jeff Speck was extraordinary and elevated our goals and concepts into the vision and plan we have today.” Highlights of Vineyard Station include: Sustainability: Designed by world-renowned city planner and urban designers Jeff Speck and DPZ, Vineyard FrontRunner Station is positioned to be the most walkable, sustainable community in Utah. Its thoughtful master planning, proximity to the FrontRunner Vineyard Station, and addition of trails to the city’s already robust trail system will provide unparalleled urban living. Accessibility: Accessible from I-15 from 1600 North, 800 North and Center Street exits, and from the Vineyard Frontrunner Station, Vineyard Station is poised to serve this fast-growing city for generations to come. Promenade: Featuring 12 acres of open green space running through the center of the development, the promenade will begin at the Vineyard FrontRunner Station and lead to the shores of Utah Lake at Vineyard Beach Park (which is currently undergoing improvements by the city and county). “Our state and local entities recognize the importance of this development and continue to show support that will serve the region and state with longevity, centered on a robust easy- access transportation network, with world class transit, and regional trail connections throughout this development,” Mayor Fullmer added.  “Additionally planning for a transit tie-in to both an international and regional airport enhances this mixed used multimodal development into a port for industry, travel, and quality of life.” Work on Vineyard Station will commence in the fall of 2022.
